NBK Contributor Documentation

Here you will find basic documentation to help with the process of contributing your catalogue to the NBK.

Once we have agreed to load your data onto the NBK you will be able to access futher information on the Contributor Dashboard. To access the Dashboard you will need to set up a local Shibboleth entitlement for the people you want to have access. We will supply you with details about this and they are also included on the Dashboard access page.

Introductory information

If you are a new or potential contributor to the NBK your starting point is the NBK potential contributor document. This provides a basic overview of what is involved in becoming an NBK contributor, in terms of what we need from you as well as the benefits of doing so.

Please also read the Contributor Guide to the National Bibliographic Knowledgebase. Our NBK data sharing FAQs address some issues that have arisen around data licensing and sharing.

Once we have agreed to load your catalogue onto the NBK you will need to fill in our Contributor questionnaires which you will find on the Contributor Dashboard, only accessible to members. The questionnaires provide us with information about your data, to allow us to establish your data load, as well as giving us an introduction your library, so we can create a Library information page for you.

In the following document you will find notes on some of the areas you might wish to consider as you plan your catalogue load, as well as supporting information to help you complete the questionnaires: Contributing to NBK : Data supply supporting documentation

There is also a NBK data supply workflow. This summarises the way we will work with you to load your data onto the NBK and maintain it over the long term.

We have put together a Contributor FAQ, covering some of the things that new and exisiting contributors often ask.

Documentation

Some NBK contributors are kindly starting to put together some system-specific information for sending data to the NBK. This information will be posted here as it becomes available.
